The future of carbon trading
Five days after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) concluded greenhouse gases “contribute to air pollution that may endanger public health,” Bart Chilton, commissioner of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), stated on April 23 the agency was ready to oversee derivatives trading in a carbon market.
