European hedge-fund regulation faces opposition from all sides

The European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union (EU), has moved forward with legislation to provide greater transparency in the hedge-fund industry. During the G20 summit meetings in November and April, member nations, with France and Germany leading the push, agreed hedge-fund regulation needed to be tackled.
