CBOE releases binary options on S&P, VIX
By Active Trader StaffThe Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) began offering binary options on both the S&P 500 (SPX) and Volatility Index (VIX) on July 1. Binary options, which are common in the overthe- counter (OTC) market, offer an allor- nothing payout: If an option you own moves into the money (by any amount), you receive a fixed payment.
